P.RAMLEE THE MUSICAL. Another proud moment for Malaysians.

It's not a malaysian going to space (i still however feel very strongly that it should have been me in that Soyuz) but this is to me an equally as important landmark in the history of malaysian arts. P.RAMLEE THE MUSICAL WAS SOLD OUT FOR THE WHOLE RUN ON THE NIGHT IT OPENED.
Berduyun-duyun people came for the opening night

Needless to say being a musical slut myself, I've seen it twice and all i can say is that, the more i see it, the more i love it and my love affair with our very own legend P.RAMLEE is rekindled again. A man who was leaps and bounds ahead of his time. He knew what he wanted to see in a Malay Movie and he gave his movies all a special something (regardless wether it was one of his better work or his worst). This musical is a celebration of the legend and also a brief insight into his life's journey. The directors did an outstanding job briinging to life the story. Many clever cinematic like techniques were employed for the massive istana budaya stage. I am in awe and forever will be a fan of the outstanding mind belonging to Adlin Aman Ramli and Zahim Al Bakri. Kudos also to the Production designer , Raja Malek for his wonderful set designs and clever staging of them. These are the same people who helped conceptualise PGL the musical. I predict they will all get their respective datukships within the next five years if they keep this up.

As Adlin said while we were talking about the play the other day, it was a daunting task for him to intertwine a script about P. Ramlee's life and his journey through it with his 4 loves within a 3 hour time frame. In my view he did a fine job an no one scene was more memorable than those with his final muse SALOMA played by the wonderful Liza Hanim. Oh my god Liza Hanim is so gila babi good ok! There are moments she even looks like saloma from afar. The directors have done a fine job with her. I look forward for Liza's star in acting to shine even brighter with performances like those.

Power to P.Ramlee the musical.

Would you ever be interested in doing a musical? Especially producing one. It would be great if we have a contemporary musical, perhaps covering the Rock and Roll era of the 80s. Sure Mat Rempit penuh bro!!!

Bro,
Tolong pujuk/suruh/arahkan/merayu/paksa kepala datin tiara untuk lanjutkan tayangan teater ini.

Aku bukan peminat muzik or peminat teater tetapi aku terpesona tengok iklan masa raya, lepas raya aku nak beli tiket. Selamber je di website tu tulis.

ALL TIX SOLD OUT..!

Sial betul.

Aku harap mereka akan tayang lagi lepas ni. Atau kau buat la pulak apa2 teater, Sumolah ke, Buli ke, Cilok ke.. teaterkan lah movie kau. Maybe not the most original idea ever, but ala.. hidup kita memang saling tiru meniru pun.

Hi!

One thing for sure, none of the main casts are the repeat ensemble of PGL...and Sean Ghazi lived up to his name as a calibre west end-cum-singer extraordinaire. And I agreed with u , chiefkodok, that liza hanim's a definite promising talent that shud be polished up further. Even her actings in Laila Isabella was already something. She almost brought "sally" back to life with those trademark manja-ness yet no-fuss persona.

Though I am not entirely charmed with the whole show, I still gave the deserving standing ovation out of sincere respect to the whole production itself. Needless to say, they made our money worth spending and i left feeling entertained and adoring the legend himself more and more.

Wow wee. I love it!

Although Sean Ghazi lacked the persona of P.Ramlee (tiada dah galang gantinya), I was mesmerized by his powerful vocal. Liza Hanim sang flawlessly, and so did Dato' Siti. I found new love in Atilia and am falling in love all over again with the legendary P.Ramlee yang tiada galang ganti. the phrase "patah tumbuh hilang berganti" definitely do not apply in P.Ramlee's case.

Power to P.Ramlee the Musical!

I have not seen the play yet but some comments from friends who attended were interesting. Sean can sing but his potrayal of P. Ramlee was wooden. Best kudos went to Melissa Saila. There was an interview on one of the TV station where Pak Aziz Sattar disclosed some of the dates pertaining to incidents in Ramlee's life were not consistent with reality. I assume the play was conceptualised in a hurry and not much research was done to accomodate facts. However, I applaud those concerned who produced the effort.

another phenomenon in our country. semoga teater kita berkembang dan mendapat tempat di masyarakat malaysia, syabas kepada tenaga kerja production, serta aktor2 nya

Filem P. Ramlee terbaik bagi saya ialah Dr. Rushdi (1970).

Overall I enjoyed the show cuma nak komen pasal Datuk Siti, her acting was very superficial and I felt Sean pun ikut kaku sebab tak boleh pegang dia, first love my friend, mana ada tak leh pegang....(?) but I must say her singing was good. Liza H. mmg the best and it was natural and thumbs up for her.

Choreography ada sikit out lah...i thot the dancers in the 60's the very rampings but some of them looked voluptous (?); props was excellent and I Love the papparazzis........
